Terms of service
Effective 4 November 2026
These terms govern your use of Reckonda, operated by Reckonda Music LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company in the United States. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use Reckonda for an organization or another person, you must have authority to act for them. Contact us at hello@reckonda.com.
Your account and workspace
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement to create an account. Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize and for granting only appropriate access to collaborators.
A workspace role permits actions within that workspace. It does not establish copyright ownership, a royalty entitlement, representation authority or a legal transfer of rights. Contributor credits and proposed splits are records supplied by users, not determinations by Reckonda. You are responsible for verifying your authority and any agreement represented in the catalog.
Your music stays yours
You and the relevant rights holders retain ownership of uploaded audio, documents, artwork and metadata. You grant Reckonda a non-exclusive license to store, back up, process, reproduce and transmit that material only as needed to operate the service and carry out your authorized instructions, including creating listening copies, displaying waveforms, sharing selected items and producing exports.
This license does not transfer music rights to Reckonda or authorize us to commercially exploit your catalog. It lasts for the time needed to provide the service and handle permitted retention, including restricted backups. You must have the rights and permissions needed for every upload and use you request.
Sharing and collaboration
Review the recipients, permissions and expiry of each invitation, listening link or upload request. Anyone who receives an unrestricted link may forward it. Revocation prevents new access through the link but cannot recall previously downloaded material. Workspace owners control membership and access; do not assume that leaving a workspace deletes the records held by its owner.
Reckonda does not negotiate, register or enforce music-rights agreements through the catalog workspace. Review approvals, metadata history and contributor proposals help your team work together, but do not replace legal agreements or independent verification.
Acceptable use
Do not upload material you lack permission to use; infringe intellectual property or privacy rights; misrepresent another person's identity or authority; send unlawful, abusive or malicious content; distribute malware; obtain unauthorized access; bypass usage limits or security controls; or interfere with the service. Report suspected infringement or abuse to hello@reckonda.com, identifying the relevant material, the concern and how we can contact you.
Free launch and service limits
The catalog workspace launches free with no payment card required. Storage, transfer, file size, processing and other usage allowances apply and may change to keep the service sustainable. Free access does not include unlimited capacity or a guaranteed service level. We may introduce paid plans later, with pricing and terms shown before you purchase. Free use does not authorize future charges.
Features may change, and maintenance or failures can interrupt access. Keep independent copies of important originals and records. We take steps to protect and back up the service, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every loss can be recovered.
Privacy and future services
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. The current service is a catalog, collaboration and sharing workspace. It does not distribute music to streaming platforms or collect royalties. Earnings reconciliation, royalty audits and assisted recovery are planned capabilities or separate future services. They are not included merely by creating a catalog account, and no royalty recovery or income is promised.
Suspension and ending access
You may stop using Reckonda and request account closure by contacting us. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, a breach of these terms, security risks or legal requirements. Where practicable and appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a way to resolve the issue. Urgent action may be necessary to protect others or the service.
We will provide reasonable notice of a planned service closure and an opportunity to export data where practicable. Legal obligations, disputes, workspace authority and backup retention may affect what can be deleted. The privacy policy explains these limits.
Responsibility and applicable law
The service is provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not make implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, and are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibilities or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer protections.
Wyoming law and applicable United States federal law govern these terms, except where mandatory protections in your place of residence require otherwise. Please contact us first about a concern so we can try to resolve it. These terms do not require arbitration or waive your right to bring a claim in a court that has jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Reckonda develops. We will update the effective date and provide notice of material changes where required. If a change requires your consent, we will ask for it. If you do not agree to revised terms, stop using the service and contact us about exporting your data and closing your account.
